TOP 7 BEST CHRISTMAS SONGS

TOP 7 BEST CHRISTMAS SONGS

Snowflakes are falling, you're sitting on the couch with two large weighted blankets and a hot chocolate in your Snowman-shaped festive mug. You pause your Christmas movie once you hear your mom call you, and step into your fluffy socks. Walking over to the living room, You notice your family struggling to put up the Christmas tree. A smile spreads across your face as you sip the last of your hot chocolate and run over to help out, but one thing’s missing — Christmas music!

What do I think about this?

I consider myself an expert when it comes to Christmas, especially Christmas music. I love a good classic, as well as the overrated ones more on the modern side such as “All I want for Christmas is you” by Mariah Carey. I love Mariah and her heartwarming song, however I personally believe the Christmas songs of 2022 should be “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” By Mariah Carey, “Last Christmas” by Wham!, “Underneath the Tree” By Kelly Clarkson, and  “Moonlight shadow” by Dana Winner. Not everyone would agree though…

How do we determine the top 7 best Christmas songs?

I interviewed 3 grade 7 students, and conducted a survey at the middle school. Those who completed the survey were given the following 7 songs

  1. "All I Want for Christmas is You" By Mariah Carey;

  2. "Last Christmas" By Wham!;

  3. “So this is Christmas” by Thomas Berge;

  4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by Mariah Carey;

  5. “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms;

  6. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee; and

  7. “Let it Snow” by Frank Sinatra.

Students were then asked to order 1 through 7 based off these three criteria:

  1. Most essential in your Christmas playlist;

  2. How much people like them; and

  3. How much people listen to them.
